hey guys, taking a break from percabeth. I still love them and they are still my favorite ship, just in the mood for some pertemis. yes, the most wildly ooc pairing possible. its my guilty pleasure.
anyways, i’m writing a new story centered around pertemis that you can currently find on fanfic.net. might post them to wattpad and ao3 later, who knows.
i’m trying to make it as in character as possible. i also want to make it nuanced. i’m avoiding using the typical cliches and hope the story feels like a break away from them. anyways, here’s the link:

that’s chapter 1. chapter 2 is also up. total: 11k.
this story will be about how percy accompanies the hunt in their task of killing sea serpents. he falls in love with artemis along the way ;)
okay so basically this one vintage clothing blogger I follow once posted a pic of themselves in this dress and I was like this is the prettiest fucking dress I've ever seen, so I asked them where they got it, and they told me that it was vintage 1930's, and that they didn't know the brand because the name had rubbed off from the tag so I was like great. then I set off to find another one or at least a similar one. I looked where I usually tend to find genuine vintage clothing, ebay, etsy etc, even asked a couple of vintage store owner friends and we could not for the life of us find the frickin dress or a similar one. since a lot of the times vintage pieces don't survive it's not uncommon for only one dress of many produced to exist, however usually you can find similar ones and this dress had this really specific feature and it seemed to only exist for this blogger. so after this I resorted to google to see if I could at least find a similar style... and lo and behold, the first website I find a similar one is aliexpress. it has the same specific feature I'm looking for, which is not common in modern clothing, and I'm like hm, inch resting that I'd find a dupe for that dress is aliexpress of all places, but sometimes they do that on purpose so. the ali dress wasn't an exact match tho, so I kept looking... and found the dress on shein. and I don't mean I found some dress with this specific feature I want. I mean I found the exact same dress. exact same color, exact same style, exact same placement of x feature. an exact dupe. I got super excited and couldn't believe my good luck, but the more I looked at it, the more I realized it was actually too similar. I opened the picture of the blogger. same color, same placement, same pattern, even the lace pattern matches - which a nice fabric lace from the 30's should not match a plastic lace from shein in 2020. I poked around and found another picture of the blogger wearing said dress, posted by a friend of theirs, and the only differences I can really see is that theirs seems more worn, seems to have been altered to be a little bit more flattering to the person's figure, and the lace is not as white as the shein dress - which is easily done at home. there is no doubt in my mind by this point that it is the same dress.
naturally I poke around a little bit more, and find other dresses very similar, if not identical, to the blogger's "vintage" clothing on sites like aliexpress, alibaba, shein, zaful, etc. these are a bit less specific designs than the one that I wanted, so it's not impossible that they're vintage inspired pieces, but like... the fabrics. little things like placements of ornamets and patterns on fabric. things that look a bit wonky in the user reviews that look wonky on the blogger, too. some of the dresses have been altered and are styled in ways you would almost not recognize, but this person is passing modern clothing as vintage, and at that, unethically made modern clothing from china, I can tell you with like 90% certainty. now idk what to do because this blogger is very popular in the vintage community and if I accuse them there's no going back, but like. some of the comparisons I have are simply undeniable... idk what do
tl;dr I wanted a dress so bad I accidentally uncovered a conspiracy in which a popular vintage blogger is passing unethical modern clothing as vintage and now I have the power to expose them but idk if I should. WHAT YALL THINK HELP ME
